Leather bags go ethicalIt’s one of the buzz words of the moment: ethical. And now it’s making its mark in the world of fashion…A Newcastle University graduate (perhaps a tentative link to warrant space on this Newcastle themed blog) is one of the brains behind a fab new online boutique for an ethical accessories brand.Sequel London offers a range of leather bags recycled from leather jackets, discarded silk ties and unwanted curtains (an eclectic combination if ever there was one!) and was set up by cousins Laura Queening and Claire Baigent – who graduated from Newcastle in 2006. Their vision is to encourage sustainability in fashion and reduce waste. A very admirable business aim. It’s an interesting concept and the items are really stylish, with silk ties draped around the handles of their clutch, hand, hobo, shopper, shoulder and zipped work bags. Take a look!
